Who this page is for
Indian students booking or sitting IELTS Academic (or deciding whether they actually need UKVI).
Overview
Results are released to your IDP or British Council account. Computer-delivered Academic is often available in about 1–2 days; paper takes longer (commonly around a week). The Test Report Form (TRF) is what universities want. UKVI results use a different report layout and a unique reference for UKVI.
What actually matters
- Screenshot-only 'results' are not enough for CAS in the UK.
- Enquiry on results has a deadline and a fee; it rarely moves a band.
- One Skill Retake, where available, is Academic-only in many markets — not a UKVI shortcut.
If one band is below the offer
A 6.5 overall with Writing 5.5 fails a 'no band below 6.0' master's. Use the band calculator, then decide between One Skill Retake, a full re-sit, or PTE if every remaining university lists it. Chat can map that against your shortlist.
Verify on the official source
Fees, dates, accepted scores and visa rules change. Confirm the current figure on the official test, university, regulator or government page before you book or pay. StudyWhere is an advisor, not the test owner.
