Overview

MBA English floors sit higher than generic MSc pages more often than students expect. Many international MBAs list 7.0; some accept 6.5 with a strong GMAT and work experience. US MBA admissions still treat TOEFL as the default even when IELTS is accepted. The test does not replace GMAT/GRE, essays, or work-history fit.

What actually matters

• Read the MBA page, not the graduate-school banner.
• Executive and one-year MBAs can differ from two-year US MBA floors.
• UK Student visa still needs the right SELT product if UKVI requires it.

If you have 6.5 and an MBA target

Some European and Australian MBAs will still talk to you. Most US M7/T15 pages will not treat 6.5 as competitive. Decide whether to re-sit IELTS, sit TOEFL, or change the school list — IELTS vs TOEFL for the USA.
