How to Prepare for IELTS in 30 Days

How to Prepare for IELTS in 30 Days

A 30-day IELTS Academic plan for Indian students: daily hours, which tasks to drill, and when 30 days is not enough.

Who this page is for

Indian test-takers who have already chosen IELTS Academic and now need a plan, not a comparison.

Overview

Thirty days works if you already function around band 6 and need 6.5. It does not work if you are starting from 5.0 and targeting 7.5. The plan below assumes 2–3 focused hours a day, six days a week, and a booked test date. Official mocks stay with IDP/British Council; StudyWhere drills are method pages plus WhatsApp feedback, not an auto-marker.

What actually matters

  • Official mocks stay with the test owner.
  • StudyWhere does not auto-mark every URL; WhatsApp is the feedback loop.
  • Book the named variant first, then prep.

Week 1 — diagnostics

One full Listening and Reading under time. One Task 1 and one Task 2. A recorded Part 2. Identify the weakest section — that section gets 40% of remaining time.

Weeks 2–3 — task types

Rotate Listening types, Reading T/F/NG, Task 1, Task 2, Speaking topics. Two timed sections every weekday.

Week 4 — exam conditions

Two full written papers. Speaking every day. Stop learning new essay templates on day 26.

Verify on the official source

Fees, dates, accepted scores and visa rules change. Confirm the current figure on the official test, university, regulator or government page before you book or pay. StudyWhere is an advisor, not the test owner.
