How to use these study abroad university profiles
Each StudyWhere university profile is written for international applicants who need more than a ranking screenshot. You will find typical fee ranges, admissions expectations, scholarship routes, and visa pathways after an offer, with amounts shown in a way you can compare across schools. Use this index to browse, then open a profile when a campus matches your destination, subject, and budget.
Do not treat the list as a ranking. A well-known US private university and a strong public campus in Canada or Germany can both be the right answer depending on net cost, intake, and post-study work. Read fees alongside living costs, and admissions alongside English-test or academic requirements. If a school has dedicated pages for tuition, scholarships, acceptance rate, or Indian applicants, use those spokes after the overview so you are not mixing marketing copy with the numbers that matter.
When you have five to eight names, compare them on the same criteria: programme length, deposit and CAS or I-20 timing, scholarship odds, and whether the city is actually affordable. Destination guides and scholarship pages sit next to this index for that reason. If you already know two countries, open a comparison guide, then come back here to shortlist campuses inside the winner.
Frequently asked questions
- Are these universities ranked?
- No. This is a working shortlist of schools international students actually research, not a league table. Rankings can help as one signal; fees, visas, and programme fit should decide the offer you accept.
- What should I check first on a university page?
- International tuition for your level of study, typical entry requirements, scholarship routes, and the visa or post-study work path for that country. Then confirm living costs for the city, not just the campus brochure.
- How many universities should I apply to?
- Most students do well with a mix of stretch, match, and safe options — often six to ten applications, not thirty. Quality of documents matters more than volume. Use profiles to drop schools that fail your budget or visa timeline.
